Chapter 19 (Please Teach Me Tutor)

Episode 19: Do you have a boyfriend?

‘Yesterday was really great too.’

Yu Ah-ra shivered as she recalled Kim Si-woo’s private tutoring session yesterday. It wasn’t even a class day.
However, she didn’t want to just send him away, so she told him to eat a bite of ramen before leaving, and because of that, she ended up getting into the mood and even taking Mana Circulation lessons.

“He won’t misunderstand, will he?”

Yu Ah-ra told Kim Si-woo to eat ramen and go. It was a popular flirting comment from the old days. ‘What on earth made me say that?’
‘Even now, I can’t understand it.’
It would have been better to just let him go.

‘That’s not it.’

If Kim Si-woo had just gone back, Ah-ra wouldn’t have felt that pleasure yesterday.

“Pleasure… Come to your senses, Yu Ah-ra. It’s just part of class.”

Yu Ah-ra shook her head and shook off her thoughts.
‘Yes. It was just one of the usual classes.’
‘It was nothing special.’

Even though Yu Ah-ra was naked and allowing Kim Si-woo to touch her bare skin, there were no personal feelings. She tried to brainwash herself.

Otherwise, what she and Kim Si-woo were doing would not be a class, but something outrageous.

“Whew, let’s calm down.”

‘Just focus on getting stronger. Don’t think about anything else.’
‘Just pass the exam, graduate, and succeed.’
‘The future of your family rests on your shoulders, Ah-ra.’

To succeed safely for the family who sacrificed themselves for her. That was Yu Ah-ra’s goal.

Around the time when Yu Ah-ra was trying hard to ignore the tickling sensation in her lower body.

“Ah-ra, good morning…….”
Lee Hye-ri arrived. She sat down with a slightly excited expression, a little different from usual. Usually, Lee Hye-ri sat right next to Yu Ah-ra, but today was different. Lee Hye-ri sat one seat away.

‘Why is Hye-ri doing that?’
For some reason, Lee Hye-ri hurriedly packed her bag without even making eye contact with Yu Ah-ra.

“What are you doing?”
“Huh?”
“Why are you sitting there? Just go to work like you usually do. You look uncomfortable for some reason.”
“Oh, is that so?”

It was strange to see Lee Hye-ri stutter without making eye contact.

“Where does it hurt?”
“T-That’s not it… No. I think it hurts a little. I have a little fever. Let’s sit a little further away so that you don’t catch it.”

If an Awakened person catches a cold, which is several times stronger than a normal person, then it must be a serious cold. Then it makes sense that he suddenly became strange.

“Okay.”

Yu Ah-ra was trying to prepare for class when she felt a gaze on her. When Ah-ra turned her head and her eyes met with Lee Hye-ri.
Suspiciously enough, Lee Hye-ri quickly turned her head away as soon as both made eye contact.

It’s obvious what Lee Hye-ri’s intentions are.

“I wouldn’t tell you.”
“Huh? W-what?”
“I will never tell you my secret.”

Yu Ah-ra didn’t want Kim Si-woo be taken away by another woman.

She wanted him to be her own little Teacher Si-woo. She feared that, Kim Si-woo had more students to teach, the quality of the class would go down.

It may seem strange, but Yu Ah-ra absolutely do not think of Kim Si-woo as a lover or anything like that. Even, she never thought about dating while attending the academy.

‘Of course, if Teacher Si-woo come to her, probably, I wouldn’t be able to refuse.’

“Ah-ra, y…. you mean the secret behind your strength. Ha, haha. Uh, uh……. Right. Yeah. It’ll be hard for you to share it.”
Lee Hye-ri, who had been hesitating, rolled her eyes for a moment and then leaned over and asked.

“Yu Ah-ra, do you have a boyfriend?”
“Boyfriend?”
“Yeah.”
“No? I don’t have one.”

‘Why is she acting like that?’
‘Why is suddenly asking about boyfriend?’
Yu Ah-ra wanted to ask Lee Hye-ri about it, but chose to reply her instead, “I don’t have any boyfriend.”

Unexpectedly, Lee Hye-ri looked surprised. It was as if she was sure that Ah-ra had a boyfriend.

“Yeah. Where can you find a guy who would date a repeat student?”
“No. Ah-ra, you got second place in the regular exams this time, and you’re also incredibly pretty and have a great body. There’s no way you don’t have a boyfriend.”
“Thanks for the compliment, but I really don’t have one.”
“Really?”
“Yeah. But why are you suddenly asking that?”
“No. I just suddenly got curious.”

Yu Ah-ra heard Lee Hye-ri mumbling, about boyfriend.
‘Why is she acting like this?’
‘Normally, she would have been clinging to me again and again, asking to tell her the secret, but there was no sign of that happening.’
‘Is she really that sick?’

‘It’s fortunate that she didn’t keep nagging at me. It doesn’t matter what happened.’

Even if Yu Ah-ra found Lee Hye-ri little annoying, she thought she could forgive her. Because, ever since Ah-ra signed tutor contract, she isn’t worried about anything for now.

;Come to think of it, today is class time. I was looking forward to Kim Si-woo’s class more than the academy class.’

‘When I entrusted myself to him, I felt relief and the feeling of full mana in my lower abdomen, and I felt….’

“Oh no……”

Moment, Yu Ah-ra thought about Kim Si-woo for a moment, and her lower body got wet because of that. She recalled the memory of last night.

‘This won’t do.’
‘Calm down. Calm down.’

Yu Ah-ra concentrated on taking a deep breath. She was so focused that she didn’t notice that Lee Hye-ri was looking at her with hot eyes.

Professor Park Ji-Yoon was checking reference materials for her lecture on urban combat training after finishing class today.

Among the numerous papers and videos, the most helpful material is.

-Basic A-Z of urban combat.
-Author Shadow Mask.

It was a book written by Shadow Mask, whose qualifications had been revoked due to his Hunter crimes.

“I made it really easy to understand.”

It was a book written so that not only a professor, but also a newcomer to hunter society who has just started working as a hunter, could easily understand.

Shadow Mask, who was a former top graduate of the Academy. A lot of information is included in the book, like his know-how, the experiences he had, and the conclusions he reached along the way.

-Basic A-Z for jungle battles.
-Basic A-Z for desert dungeons.
-Basic A-Z for dungeon raids.
… … .

The numerous books he left behind. These books, known as the ‘A-Z series’, provided hunters with various information at each level, from basic to beginner, intermediate, and advanced.

The Shadow Mask’s books were by far the best among the combat training books currently used at the academy.
It was Shadow Mask who conquered various dungeons, including urban areas, jungles, and desert dungeons. He said he was a hunter without active skills.

Graduating at the top of his class without active skills?

Maybe it doesn’t make any sense. But since Shadow Mask was so passionate about analysis that he created such a book, which made Prof Park think it was possible.

Thanks to these Shadow Mask’s books, it could be said that the hunters’ combat skills had advanced by at least one level.

“Those above don’t acknowledge it, though.”

One of the most promising Korean hunters who was the polar opposite of Daesung.
Although his fighting ability was a bit weak, it was clear that the many lectures he had would be of great help in nurturing future generations.

However, everything changed after that news was aired:
-Korean Hunter Academy record breaker, top graduate Shadow Mask, arrested and indicted for hunting fellow hunters within the dungeon.
Shadow Masks got acquitted for crime of killing a fellow hunter in the dungeon.

“Phew.”

Park Ji-yoon found it unfortunate that more books wouldn’t be published because Shadow Mask’s Hunter qualification was canceled, but the various books he left behind were still helpful.

Starting with Shadow Mask, several books were published that had a new perspective on combat training. Various strategies and lecture textbooks written by an Anonymous Author are continuously being published.

Of course, the Academy was blocking their use because they did not know the author, but Park Ji-Yoon knew. The book written by this Anonymous Hunter was groundbreaking.

From the novelty of using stronger cold rather than heat to deal with the Ice Golem, to absorbing the heat of the desert and using that power in battle, reducing power loss, it was an amazing strategy that even she, a professor, was impressed by.

“The Hunter Association is still conservative.”

‘Now, both the Gate and the Hunter society have entered a period of stability. Everyone is afraid of change.’

‘Could it be because the past was almost anarchic and operated on the principle of force, with no established laws?’
‘They wanted to maintain current status quo.’

Park Ji-Yoon knew that change wasn’t always the answer, but she thought that strategy shouldn’t be fixed.
That’s why the writings of this anonymous scholar caught her eye.

“It’s a shame. It’s a real shame.”

She let out a deep sigh.

“I don’t know who you really are, but I really want to meet you when I find you.”

Then Yu Ah-ra came in.

“Excuse me, Professor. I heard you called.”
“Oh, you’re here?”

This was the cadet who had the most progress in this exam.

From a repeater to second place in the first exam. It was a dramatic change. If Park Ji-yoon hadn’t witnessed it, she wouldn’t have believed it either.

Of course, it was extremely rare for someone to grow like this at the Academy.
The Academy’s ranking system was that accurate.

Occasionally, there are cases of Second Awakenings, who become stronger, but such a drastic change was impossible. It was first, since, 10 years Academy i.e from the time academy was founded.
This was the first time a repeater had grown this much. That was why Prof Park Ji-yoon was curious.

‘Who is the teacher who made Yu Ah-ra like this?’

“Don’t worry, I’m not calling you to scout you as a graduate student.”
“Oh, yes…….”

Yu Ah-ra sat across Park Ji-yoon.

“First of all, congratulations. You’ve been given top priority for the scholarship. Normally, the first-place scholarship would have gone to Lee Hye-ri, but she declined it, so Ah-ra, you got it.”
“Hye-ri declined the scholarship?”
“She said she was second place, and that she would take the second place scholarship.”
“Ah…….”

Yu Ah-ra clenched her fists. Regardless, Professor Park Ji-Yoon continued speaking.

“Of course, if your second exam results are bad, you might fail the scholarship review. So I hope you maintain your good grades this time.”
“Yes, professor.”
“And Ah-ra.”

This was the main point.

“Who else did you learn from besides the academy?”
“Huh? What do you mean?”
“Who?”
“Huh?”
“Who taught you? I’m not questioning you. It’s just out of pure curiosity as a scholar. I’m curious about how you were able to grow so quickly.”
“Oh, that’s it…”
“The Academy doesn’t prohibit private education. In fact, it encourages it. If you can become stronger by doing so, then there will be one stronger hunter for humanity.”

Yu Ah-ra bit her lip and then sat up abruptly.

“Sorry, sorry!!!”

She ran out of the lab. However, Park Ji-Yoon didn’t bother to hold on to her.

“It looks like you don’t want to make it public.”

Park Ji-yoon know that feeling well. That feeling of wanting to monopolize everything.

‘How could I not know?’
‘Even if it were me, I would have done the same. It would be even more special since he was the one who changed your fate as a repeat student.’

“I don’t think it’ll be easy to find.”

Professor Park Ji-Yoon, the professor of ‘Downtown Combat Training’ and the professor in charge of Class D, muttered as she looked at the empty seat left by Yu Ah-ra.

“I guess I need to build up some favorability.”

***
“Someone was definitely watching.”

Kim Si-woo thought about the curious gaze when he was in Yu Ah-ra’s apartment.
‘Who on earth was it?’
‘Whoever it was, it had mastered to kill own presence.’

‘Even though I was concentrating on Yu Ah-ra’s class, I didn’t notice until I become focus of gaze.’
‘If it was an enemy, my head would have been blown off.’

“It’s annoying.”

‘It was a harmless gaze, but I was upset that I felt like I was being treated that way.’

“Have you been away from the scene for too long?”

It became mushy.

“I don’t feel like I can face my students like this.”

Basically, the world of hunters was one where the strong were the strong. The weak were eaten and the strong were eaten.

It didn’t matter since Yu Ah-ra’s physical abilities weren’t that great, but Kim Si-woo couldn’t assume that all his future students would be magic-oriented like Yu Ah-ra. So.

“I need to train a bit too.”

‘The Appraisal work and tutoring. If I start training, I can’t do both.’
‘I can’t give up tutoring, either.’

“Team Leader!”

Kim Si-woo shouted at the Appraisal team leader who was resting his chin on his hand with a gentle face.

“I quit! I am resigning!”
