Chapter 3 (Abandoned Disciple of Heavenly Demon)

Episode 3: Possession(3)

‘Morning, already?’

Jin Myeong cautiously looked around as the day gradually brightened. The man who saved him was true to his words; he led the others out of this place.

‘Can I move now?’

Jin Myeong couldn’t completely believe those words, so he stayed inside the tree all night without moving at all. He kept waiting for time to pass, and only when the sun rose, did he crawl out of the tree.

‘Was it true?’

He didn’t believe the man’s words, so he stayed on guard and waited until dawn. But no one actually came looking for him.

‘I don’t understand.’

Jin Myeong didn’t think the man would do that on purpose just make his guard down. If it was, he could have attempted kill him without having to wait like this.

‘I can’t stay here any longer.’

Jin Myeong couldn’t keep thinking about the man.

Currently, his stomach was screaming that with hunger, and his throat was desperately searching for water. If kept waiting, Jin Myeong could die from lack of food and water.

‘What I have is…’

Jin Myeong stroked the sword hanging from his waist and then put his hand into his bosom.

‘Isn’t there anything like food?’

There was nothing of value, nothing to eat or drink. It was because there was no time to grab those things and run away from the sudden attack.

‘This is…’

But it wasn’t like there was nothing in his arms. Jin Myeong took out what he had in his hand.

‘A dagger? A spearhead? No, it’s usually called a knife?’

Jin Myeong stared at the unremarkable dagger quietly. Then he saw something stuck on the tip of the knife.

‘What is this?’

Jin Myeong stopped as he was about to put his hand on the shiny tip of the knife, which seemed to have a transparent liquid on it.

‘I feel like I shouldn’t touch it.’

Jin Myeong frowned as he stabbed the knife into his back.

‘It looks like it was poisoned, but why did someone put something so dangerous in bosom? If he got stabbed accidentally, it’s over.’

Jin Myeong shook his head as if he couldn’t understand, then looked around.

‘It’s so frustrating.’

The first thing to do is to find the place where lucky encounter is. But no matter how much he thought about it, he couldn’t remember the exact location.

‘What was the name of that mountain?’

Jin Myeong know that it is a mountain near Heavenly Demon Sect. But there aren’t one or two mountains near Heavenly Demon Sect.

Neither could he visit all those mountains.

Those who pursued yesterday had gone back, but there was no guarantee that other pursuers would not come.

‘There’s a mountain nearby…’

Jin Myeong thought for a moment and then turned his head blankly.

‘Heavenly Mountain?’

He couldn’t figure out why the name Heavenly Mountain came to mind.

Maybe it wasn’t the true name of a past life, but a memory of the character’s true name.

‘I can’t say for sure that it’s a heavenly mountain.’

You might end up wasting your time. But he thought there was a very high chance that Jin Myeong was Heavenly Mountain.

‘A place the protagonist accidentally finds while being chased after infiltrating the Demonic Cult.’

If so, it would be close to the Heavenly Demon Sect. And the Heavenly Demon Sect was based in Heavenly Mountain.

‘You might think that somewhere like the Heavenly Mountain Mountains would be a good place to hide.’

The protagonist thought that a mountain range of that size would be a good place to hide.

Jin Myeong increasingly came to believe that the Heavenly Mountain Mountains were right.

‘I know that among them, there is a peak.’

That was quite a high peak too. This could be confirmed.

‘The highest peaks in the Tian Shan Mountains are….’

There are two peaks that Jin Myeong recalls.

‘In the novel, the protagonist’s blood was described as wetting the pure white snow.’

To be exact, it was said to be a peak that was always covered with snow. If so, then one of the two peaks he came up with must be correct.

Those two peaks are also said to be covered with perennial snow.

‘Because it was said to be the border between Xinjiang and Saewai….’

And Jin Myeong was able to pinpoint one of those two peaks. If you go over, you will reach the new foreign peak.

‘Wow, this guy originally had quite a lot of knowledge?’

Jin Myeong doesn’t know exactly what Xinjiang looks like. However, his original body seemed to know exactly what Xinjiang (almost same area of Xinjiang in current China) and Zhongyuan (Central Plain) looked like.

Just by thinking about it a little, knowledge that he had never known before comes to mind.

‘I really don’t know what criteria to bring out these memories and knowledge.’

Some of the knowledge that the original body had comes to mind, and some does not. He couldn’t help but feel that the criteria were extremely vague.

‘That’s not the important thing. Let’s get moving first.’

If you look closely, the mountain he is on, is also part of the Heavenly Mountains.

‘Should I head there?’

Jin Myeong immediately found the direction of the target peak and started walking towards it.

‘I’m thirsty… … .’

But after walking a few steps, he had to stop because his throat felt like it was burning.

‘Huh?’

They say that when you’re desperate, you get what you deserve. As he was nervous and on guard against his surroundings, he heard the sound of water that he had never heard before.

‘This way.’

Jin Myeong hurriedly ran in the direction where the sound was coming from. He was in such a hurry that his steps were faster than when he was being chased.

“It’s water!”

Jin Myeong screamed in joy as he looked at the flowing valley. Then he realized his mistake and looked around hurriedly.

‘Fortunately, there’s no one there.’

It was a huge blunder that would have made costs his life and thankfully, there hadn’t been pursuers around.

Thanks to that man, it really seemed like there were no pursuers around here.

“Ugh.”

Jin Myeong hurriedly ran to the valley and drank the water gulp down. He was so thirsty that he spent some time just drinking water.

‘Can I see my face?’

Jin Myeong slowly lifted his head towards the valley. He couldn’t see the face very well because the water was flowing.

‘That’s too bad.’

Jin Myeong sat down with a thud and let out a sigh. He was curious about what he looked like, but it seemed like he couldn’t find out right away.

‘Whew. I’ve managed to quench my thirst just now, but there’s no guarantee that I’ll be lucky enough to find water next time.’

Jin Myeong could only shake his head in regret, he started to feel worried again. As, there was no container to hold the water.

‘Should I follow this valley first?’

Anyway, isn’t it flowing from the upper reaches of the mountain?

Of course, he didn’t think this valley would lead to his destination.

‘Just get as close as possible.’

Jin Myeong walked, hoping that this valley would be as close to his destination as possible. He continued to move in the mountains like that for several days.

‘How much time has passed?’

Jin Myeong’s face was filled with fatigue as he watched the sun set and darkness gradually approach.

‘It’s getting colder.’

The nights in the mountains are extremely cold, but today it felt especially cold.

‘I want to light a fire.’

Jin Myeong couldn’t light a fire because he didn’t know when the pursuers would come.

He sat down anywhere he could find and leaned against the tree, crouched down, and looked around.

‘I hope today passes safely as well.’

Because it is a mountain, there are wild animals. Not long ago, he couldn’t sleep properly because of the sudden howling of a wolf.

Jin Myeong, who was looking around with his eyes wide open, eventually began to nod off, unable to overcome his sleep.

“Huh!”

Then he suddenly came to his senses and looked around. It seems like quite some time has passed, but luckily there have been no attacks by wild animals such as wolves.

‘I feel a little more relaxed.’

He was so tired that just closing his eyes for a moment made his body feel a little lighter.

Jin Myeong looked around for a moment, then took a piece of fruit out of his bosom and put it in his mouth.

It was the wild fruits; he found in the mountains.

‘I can’t even taste it…’

Perhaps because it was still unripe, it had a stronger bitter taste.

He had kept it and not eaten it because it might have been poisonous, but eventually he couldn’t stand the hunger and started eating it.

‘Let’s move again.’

It seemed like the sun had set not long ago, but while he was eating the fruit, the sun began to rise again.

Jin Myeong got up from his seat and started walking again without thinking.

‘It was close, as expected.’

And finally, after a short while, he was able to reach his target, Takmok Peak. The pure white snow he was walking on was proof of that.

‘It must have been cold because we kept moving to higher places.’

There is only one place he must go.

This is the summit of the mountain.

‘The protagonist climbed up to the top of this peak without any plan and discovered a cave at the top.’

And in that cave was the martial arts that Jin Myeong was looking for.

‘Whew. Let’s go.’

Still, perhaps because his goal was getting closer, he felt like his tired body was energized.

Of course, it might not have been here. But Jin Myeong already didn’t want to start feeling that way.

‘Hmm. I’ve been thinking about it for a while now, but… … .’

Certainly, the owner of this body did not seem to be slacking off in his training Although he was on the thin side, he was very strong.

In his past life, he never had abs.

‘If it were my original self, I would have already collapsed because my thighs would hurt.’

Even though he was climbing the steep peak, his legs held up well.

“I’ve arrived!”

‘How long did it take?’

‘It seems like it took over ten hours at a glance.’

Jin Myeong watched the sun set again and guessed the time. During that time, Jin Myeong continued to climb the peak without resting.

Wet your throat with the snow piled up on the ground, and eat fruit so bitter that would make your tongue tingle.

‘But I’m not tired.’

There was something about this feeling that was strange. It was strange, that he didn’t felt tired even though he had climbed without resting on contrary he felt strangely refreshed.

‘Where is the cave?’

For a moment, he admired his own tireless body.

Jin Myeong quickly looked around and started looking for the cave where the protagonist might have entered.

‘Surely this isn’t the place?’

He had those uneasy thoughts too. But Jin Myeong shook his head quickly to clear away his anxious thoughts.

‘It’s hard to say that you’ve found everything just by looking around like this.’

So, Jin Myeong started walking quickly and looking for a place where a cave might be.

‘Is that it?’

After looking around a bit, Jin Myeong was able to discover a cave.

From where he stood, the location was out of sight, but as soon as he moved a little, the cave came into view.

‘Let’s go in first.’

Jin Myeong immediately started walking towards the cave.

‘It’s dark.’

It would have been nice if there had been a fire, but there was no such thing. There was no such thing as the ability to make a fire without any tools.

‘But I’m slowly getting used to it.’

Is it because he’d gotten used to the darkness?

As his vision became clearer, Jin Myeong slowly walked into the cave.

Sticky!

‘Hmm?’

Jin Myeong, who was walking, soon stopped walking as he felt like he had stepped on something.

‘What is this?’

Jin Myeong frowned as he picked up what he had stepped on while bending down.

‘Bone?’

That’s when it occurred to me that it was the bone of something.

“Crrrrrrr!”

The sudden sound made the hairs on his body stand on end. Jin Myeong slowly turned his head in the direction where the sound was coming from.
